Women's Convention

Tristan and Emma enjoying some sun during a break from the children's program at Convention

After a great time of worship at Bedeque Baptist (PEI) on Sunday, we made the trek to Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to attend this year's Convention Assembly. This year the Women's Convention celebrates its 100th Anniversary. It was neat to see the ladies dressed in period costumes. Yesterday, we were interviewed by Laura Selig during the evening program where we shared our call to Kenya. We are looking forward to the rest of the week as we connect with old friends and meet new ones.

Purple Bikini

"Our Purple Princess"

Emma turned 5 on August 16th so we celebrated with a pool party. It was a great day for water games, bubbles and birthday cake. We had such a wonderful time. We can hardly believe that our little girl is 5. Already, we have been wondering what Emma's 6th birthday will look like in Kenya. But for now we want to just enjoy this moment and treasure our five year old princess!

Tristan's NEW skills

Our summer has been filled with many firsts, including our first experience knee boarding. Thanks to uncle Justin and auntie Amanda for being such great teachers, Tristan was a fearless wake rider!

There and back again!

Well it is good to be back home in the maratimes. We enjoyed a great weekend with Andrew, Kelly and Lauren Myers (who Tristan is trying to put under his spell in the picture above). We were encouraged by the congregations at Central Norton and Smithtown United Baptist Churches with whom we worshipped with on Sunday and shared about our call to Kenya and Somali ministry.
We had a great time on Monday getting together with the Burritto Group (our college & career friends from Midland). And then on Tuesday with Young at Heart and our faith family at Midland Baptist Church. It is so good to have such wonderful people caring for us on this journey.
We are back in Riverview today with Erica's mom. Tristan and Emma braved their first round of immunizations -- 3 needles down and 2 more to go!

What a day!

We had a wonderful time visiting Justin & Amanda and their beautiful girls in Bradenton. Before we left Florida, we enjoyed a great day at Disney. The squeels of glee when we pulled onto Celebration Drive and saw Mickey's big ears were worth the whole trip.

Tristan's favorite ride was SPLASH MOUNTAIN. The fifty foot drop down the face of a waterfall was the big thrill, but the anticipation of the big splash, as we wound our way through the story of Brerr Rabbit, was what really made the ride. He also loved THUNDER MOUNTAIN, the HAUNTED HOUSE and the new BUZZ LIGHTYEAR ride.

Emma got to meet many of the Disney princesses, but her favorite ride was STITCH'S ESCAPE! She also liked the night time parade and exploring MINNIE'S HOUSE.

What a day!
