New Life Home

Aaron cuddles with six month old Jim, as they have a rock after Jim's lunch.
On Wednesday, we shared a day with a team working at New Life Home from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. NLH is an orphanage here in Nairobi that cares for many HIV positive infants and toddlers. The Dartmouth group has been serving here for two weeks and we had the joy of joining them at New Life on their last day before they returned to Canada that evening.
It was wonderful, but heart breaking to leave. We helped with snacks, played in the grass with the toddlers, bottle fed babies and rocked them. Erica spent her last hour with a beautiful baby girl that is very sick. Erica tried to feed her but she drank very little. She is HIV positive and her future is in the Lord's hand. We are so thankful for ministries like this that are saving lives and blessing even the most desperate with the love of Christ.

Erica and Clive at snack time.

Erica says good-bye to Carole and Melissa the team leaders from the Short-term missions group from First Baptist Church, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Asante sana sana sana ...I hope that emphasizes enough how very grateful I am for this blog entry and the pictures from NLH. Those babies are so precious! I was overjoyed last Saturday to read the blog from the NS team and learn that the baby boy, that I had become most attached to last October-November, has a family fostering/adopting him.
Blessings, Greta
The NS team will be arriving back tonight and hopefully our NB team will be able to meet with them again and exchange more stories. We have been delighted to follow them in their journey and relive through them the joy of being at NLH. It is a very special place with special caregivers and of course, precious babies. We continue to pray for God's blessing on the work there.

Oh what can I say? The pictures tell the whole story. The smiles on your faces show joy and love in the midst of some of the reasons we sometimes ask why and yet we are so thankful for all who share God's love for these children. I can't think of a better way to stay so close to you and the work you are involved in than this blog site. Love and God Bless. Bev

Hello Greta, Bev and Kelly,

Thanks so much for your comments!

We were glad to be able to visit New Life and to be able to share some of our pictures. We hope to go again some Saturday with Tristan and Emma.

Can we look up any one for you Greta when we go back?

Blessings,
Love Aaron & Erica

What a joy it was when I read your blog and found out that you visited "our babies". Aren't they beautiful!
When you go again please try and find Addy - he will be 1 year old this month. Give him a big hug from me.
Have you found "yours" yet?????????
I enjoy your blogs and the pictures.
Great that you were able to meet the N.S. team. We are hoping to visit them and hear ALL of their stories and see their pictures.
Love and prayers to each of you.
Happy Mother's Day, Erica.
Love, Donna
